NCM Moscow Plus Electric Mountain Bike
The NCM Moscow Electric Mountain Bike
I have ridden a lot of ebikes in the NCM range and the Moscow is one that always stands out. For the money, it is an excellent electric mountain bike. It is well made, has a good battery and strong rear hub motor.
The DAS-Kit X15 geared rear hub motor is efficient and produces a decent amount of torque. The motor reduction ratio of 1:5 and torque output of 55 Nm is excellent for a geared rear hub motor.
A Multi-function LCD display provides all the information you need, including a trip function. It also has 6 power levels of electric-assist.
A neatly integrated 48v16ah (768Wh) Lithium battery pack provides power for the motor. The battery also has a USB charging port for mobile phones and other devices.
The claimed battery range of 90 miles should be possible, but this will depend on rider weight and the kind of terrain ridden on.
Suntour XCM magnesium bladed front forks with 100mm of travel will provide enough suspension for mild to moderate off-road riding, and the Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres should provide reasonable grip and a certain degree of puncture protection.
A gel saddle provides enough comfort and the ergonomic handlebar grips feel good.
The Gearing is Shimano Acera 24-speed – A triple chainring upfront with a 8-speed cassette at the rear.
Tektro hydraulic disc brakes give good stopping power.
The NCM Moscow Plus is one of the best value electric mountain bikes currently available. It is robust, and well-built. If you are looking for an ebike with a long battery range for a shade under a £1500, the NCM is well worth considering. It is available in 27.5″ and 29er wheel sizes.Read the full NCM Moscow review at ebikechoices.com
