If you’re looking to convert an existing bike to electric but don’t want to spend a fortune, then the Yose Power E-Bike conversion kit offers exceptional value for money. This is the full kit and includes a 36v 12.5Ah Hailong case battery. Click on the link at the bottom of this page for a full review of the Yose Power Kit.
The Yose Power e-bike conversion kit was always a firm favourite of customers when I ran an electric bike conversion business. It’s low-maintenance, reliable and excellent value for money.
For riders who want to add electric assist to their bike but aren’t after anything too fancy and don’t want to pay a premium for a mid-drive, then the Yose Power e-bike conversion kit is simply the best there is for the price.
I must have installed over 50 of these kits when I ran my e-bike conversion business and I can say that I never had a single complaint or failure. This is especially remarkable when you consider how cheap this kit is.

Don’t be fooled by the cheap price though. The Yose Power kit punches well above its weight when it comes to quality. The wheel rims used are nicely finished with thick, heavy gauge spokes. Their motor is also nicely finished off and is available in a silver or satin black finish. Seeing customer bikes after a full wet UK winter use, the finish holds up quite well with only some minor paint flaking here and there.
Reliability
The Yose Power motor uses a tried and tested geared hub motor design which has minimal internal parts and is fairly resistant to wet weather. I have never had one of these motors fail despite fitting over 50 of them to customer bikes. The only issues I’ve had relate to the pedal assist sensor which can sometimes wear or fail over time. These are very cheap and easy to replace (usually £10-£12).
Performance
All of the Yose Power motors perform very well considering their small size. The 350w version has a little bit more oomph when compared with the 250w version, but unfortunately it’s not road legal in the UK.
I have witnessed a gentleman in his 80’s ride with ease up a 8-10% climb on a bike I’d converted for him using one of these kits.

Riding your Yose Power converted E-Bike
The Yose Power kit has 5 levels of assist which can be easily changed ‘on-the-go’ thanks to the neat display unit which mounts near the left hand side gear/brake lever. The motor produces power very smoothly once pedalling starts and even in the lower assist levels provides a significant amount of help for the rider.
Another great thing with these small hub motors is they produce no resistance if the electric is switched off or you run out of battery power. You can pedal it just like a normal bike with the extra weight being the only noticeable thing.

Conclusion
If you’re after an electric bike conversion kit on a budget, you cannot get better than the Yose Power kit. They are a good company who have been selling through eBay for many years – their feedback speaks for itself.
The motor kits are fairly straightforward to fit even for a novice and it’s easy to convert your bike back again if you ever decide to upgrade. These kits are well packaged, come with extras (like tools) and are excellent quality for the price. I can highly recommend Yose Power and I have featured a couple of their kits in my updated best e-bike conversion kits article.
